Breast Cancer Awareness Clinic

In 2013, FOB took a significant step toward addressing the alarming breast cancer rates in Bangladesh by establishing the Breast Cancer Awareness Clinic in Mirpur, Dhaka. This clinic was inaugurated by the British High Commissioner to Bangladesh and has since been at the forefront of early detection and treatment for breast cancer. We recently installed a state-of-the-art mammography machine to enhance our screening capabilities, offering thousands of women access to high-quality diagnostic services. The clinic’s success has led to plans for relocation into a larger, multi-storied facility, allowing us to accommodate more patients and provide a wider range of services. Our ultimate goal is to promote early detection, which is critical in reducing mortality rates and saving lives.

School Under the Sky

In December 2017, FOB launched the School Under the Sky project in Dhaka. The initiative is aimed at rehabilitating the nearly 800,000 street children in the city who lack access to education, shelter, and basic necessities. Through this program, FOB offers a unique model of street education, providing children with basic literacy, life skills, and access to social services, including short-term housing at our Bridge School in Bochila, Mohammadpur. This is often the first step toward long-term integration into formal schooling and eventual reintegration into society. Our education program is not just about teaching; it is about transforming lives, giving children the chance to escape the cycle of poverty, and helping them become productive members of society.

Support for Rohingya Refugees

The humanitarian crisis involving the Rohingya refugees fleeing persecution in Myanmar has been one of the most urgent humanitarian issues in recent years. In response, FOB mobilized resources and worked closely with the Bangladesh Army to distribute thousands of mosquito nets, blankets, and other essential items to refugees living in camps in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. Our team on the ground has been providing continuous support to ensure that these vulnerable populations have access to basic necessities such as shelter, clothing, and clean water. We

Long-Term Relief Efforts

Looking ahead, FOB is working on rehabilitation programs for Rohingya refugees, focusing on providing more durable housing solutions, education for refugee children, and healthcare services for women and children in the camps.
